NOTE: A suitable and approved
emergency plan and evacuation route, which informs
guests as to what action should be taken in the
event of a fire, should be affixed to the back
of every guest room door. Such a plan should include:
a) the action to be taken by the person discovering
a fire;
b) the action to be taken for evacuation of the
building and assuring accountability of the occupants;
c) the action to be taken pending the arrival
of emergency services; and
d) an evacuation floor plan that identifies exit
doors and windows.

If you discover a fire;
a) Operate the fire alarm immediately.
b) Call the fire brigade. (telephone number)
c) Attack the fire if possible with the equipment
provided, but do not take any personal risks.
d) Leave immediately if the fire cannot be brought
quickly under control. Shut doors and windows
to slow down the spread of smoke, but only if
it will not significantly delay your escape.
On hearing the alarm
a) Leave the building and proceed to the assembly
point at (To be decided on by management in the
emergency evacuation plan.)
